The following instructions will allow you to forward calls from your desk phone to any other phone, including your cell phone. They require you to be at your desk phone and know your voicemail PIN to start the process. Do not share your PIN with anyone. If you don't know your pin or are unable to make these updates on your phone for any reason, please submit a help desk ticket to IT.
Setting up and editing Forwarding
- Press the Options soft key (hardware buttons under the display that correlate with the options at the very bottom of the display) on your phone and enter your voicemail PIN.
- Using the arrow pad, scroll to Availability and press the Edit.
- Scroll to Out of office and press Edit.
- Scroll to Forward calls and press edit.
- Scroll to Always and press okay.
- Scroll to Always destination and enter the phone number you want to forward to.
- For on campus numbers you can enter the last 4 digits of the number.
- For external numbers (like a cellphone, including NWU owned cellphones) you must put '91' before the phone number. For example, if you wanted to forward to 402-867-5309 you would enter 914028675309.
- Press Back, make sure you are still on Out of office and press OK, and then Exit.
Stop Forwarding
- Press State, scroll to Available, and press OK.
