To continuously improve our security and to bring you peace of mind, IT appreciates the efforts in reporting malicious emails.
There are 2 ways to report phishy emails.
First, you can use the report feature on the email itself. When you open an email, this icon will appear at the top right. Mark the email appropriately, as this will train your inbox and our servers on what to look out for. For spam AND phishing emails, you should select "Phishing".
Second, you can report it directly to the service desk through Slack. This is often used when you're not sure if it's spam or not.
1) NEVER forward emails that could be malicious. Do NOT forward the email to the Service Desk.
2) Take a SCREENSHOT of the email you received. Capture as much as you can, especially the sender's email, the body, and anything it's asking you to click on.
3) Absolutely under no circumstance should you click on a link or attachment you are unsure of.
Wait for a reply before making any further action.
Thank you so much for your continued vigilance against cybercrime!
